It is essential to conceive the concept of maritime security on what are considered safe distances or as indicated Mark Lonsdale “protection rings”, where each distance is associated with a different solution intervention. For this reason, from several months, within the Department of research and analysis of the I-Protego, thanks to the experience of some of the top experts in the field in Italy, from the ranks of the 9th Parachute Regiment Col Moschin and Comsubin and thanks to the collaboration required of foreign specialists from the famous US.Navy Seals, we have prepared a draft security and defense inspired by the theories of “protection rings” learned in 1999. This project is called “SPI-VER solutions”, named after its two founders, former Raiders of the 9th Col Moschin, now integral to the I-Protego Defense & Technologies, was officially unveiled May 17, 2011 in London, at the ‘IMO (International Maritime Organization), which for the first time the convention has dedicated a space to an Italian company for its presentation.
This project also saw the participation of engineers from different Italian and foreign companies that have assembled both the mechanical and the technological artifact, again on the advice of its inventors. It has come to this great opportunity after the project has been analyzed by experts of the IMO that they considered very interesting and innovative. As always, the Americans said they were immediately interested, given a possible collaboration offered by companies linked to the group Looked Martin. However, we hope that the project remains in Italy and become a point of reference for both ship owners and who will manage the activities of legally Maritime security contractor. Of course, in Italy it will be necessary that all politicians, legislators and professionals create and adopt a real solution to the problem can be brought under control.
